Enel-Codensa construye nueva subestación eléctrica en Bogotá

La nueva subestación se llamará “Terminal”, estará ubicada en la Avenida Centenario (Calle 17), entre las Carreras 78 y 79, y atenderá la demanda de energía de las localidades de Fontibón y Kennedy. 

12 de marzo de 2020.   Luego de la aprobación de la Licencia Ambiental por parte de la Secretaría Distrital de Ambiente, y con una inversión de $20.000 millones de pesos, Enel-Codensa inicia la construcción de una nueva subestación eléctrica en Bogotá, denominada “Terminal”, y que tiene como objetivo atender la creciente demanda de energía residencial, comercial e industrial de la zona centro occidente de Bogotá, en especial, las localidades de Fontibón y Kennedy.

La Subestación Terminal estará ubicada en la Avenida Centenario (Calle 17) entre las Carreras 78 y 79, y tendrá una potencia instalada inicial de 80 MVA (millones de voltiamperios), energía equivalente a la que consume un municipio como Zipaquirá en su totalidad.

Así mismo, la subestación contará con dos transformadores en su primera fase, dos circuitos de alta tensión, y equipos y tecnología de soporte, monitoreo, seguridad y protección.

Se espera que las obras constructivas inicien en junio de 2020, mientras se hace todo el alistamiento de materiales y equipos necesarios para el desarrollo de la infraestructura eléctrica.

Además de atender el crecimiento de la demanda de energía, esta subestación beneficiará a más de 165.000 personas de manera directa, pues permitirá mejorar la calidad, confiabilidad y operatividad del servicio de energía en los sectores de Modelia, Hayuelos, Castilla, Ciudad Salitre y la Zona Industrial, pues reforzará el sistema de distribución local.

Entre los principales proyectos de expansión de infraestructura que se están desarrollando en esta zona de la ciudad y que están implicando crecimiento en la demanda de energía, se destaca el “Triángulo Bavaria”, donde se construirán más de 3.000 viviendas, áreas para comercio, oficinas, equipamiento comunal y parques. Así mismo, también se encuentra el proyecto “Ciudadela La Felicidad”, el cual está compuesto por 54 manzanas y donde ya se han entregado más 20 conjuntos residenciales y cerca de 5.000 viviendas nuevas.

Entre las principales características de la Subestación Terminal, se destaca que será una subestación completamente automatizada y telecontrolada, lo que permitirá que la operación de la Compañía tenga una mejor respuesta en momentos de contingencia. 

“Esta subestación hace parte del plan de expansión de subestaciones de alta tensión de Enel-Codensa, y del robusto plan de inversiones que la Compañía viene realizando en toda la zona de operación, con el objetivo de fortalecer la infraestructura eléctrica, atender la creciente demanda de energía requerida para el desarrollo económico e industrial del centro del país y mejorar los niveles de confiabilidad, estabilidad, seguridad y calidad del servicio en Bogotá y Cundinamarca”, dijo Luis Alejandro Rincón, subgerente de Unidad Operativa de Alta Tensión de Enel-Codensa.
