- Con la adjudicación de la licitación para renovar la flota de Transmilenio, la capital colombiana incorporará 1.135 buses articulados y biarticulados: 461 a gas y 674 a diésel. El cambio de flota comenzará a mediados de 2019.
2 de noviembre de 2018. Tres empresas renovarán la flota de buses de las fases I y II de Transmilenio, el sistema de transporte masivo de Bogotá, las cuales operarán y administrarán igual número de patio-talleres.
En total se renovarán 1.135 buses, entre articulados y biarticulados, de los cuales 461 serán a gas Euro VI y 674 a diésel Euro V, que remplazarán buses hasta con 18 años de servicio y más de un millón de kilómetros recorridos.
La firma SI-18 ganó tres propuestas: El patio de Suba, con una flota 125 biarticulados; la del Portal Norte, con 172 articulados y 57 biarticulados; y el patio de la calle 80 con 107 biarticulados, con norma Euro VI a gas.
Para el portal Usme la firma ganadora fue Estructura Plural, con 92 articulados, 158 biarticulados y tecnología diésel Euro V.
En el Patio El Tunal el ganador fue Bogotá Móvil con tecnología diésel Euro V y serán 196 articulados y 228 biarticulados. La troncal Américas fue la única que quedó desierta dentro del proceso de licitación.
Con la llegada de la nueva flota, que empezará a ser incorporada a mediados de 2019, se espera mejorar las condiciones del aire de la ciudad, pues las tecnologías reducirán el material particulado en un 87 por ciento.
Además, con buses más grandes habrá mejores espacios y se estima que aumentará en 140.000 la capacidad de pasajeros transportados diariamente.
Los grandes perdedores en esta licitación a diez años, fueron los buses eléctricos. “La ciudad se quedó sin nuevas tecnologías”, dijo Juan Pablo Nova, representante de Green y Actin Transport, quienes proponían transporte eléctrico por la avenida de Las Américas, que fue el tramo que quedó desierto.
