Canacol aumentó reservas de gas en 2019, con un índice de vida de 9 años

La empresa canadiense aumentó todos sus índices durante 2019 y se reafirma como la segunda productora de gas natural en Colombia, después de Ecopetrol.

20 de febrero de 2020.   Al cierre de 2019, Canacol registró aumentos en todas las categorías de reservas de gas natural, como resultado de la perforación y completamiento de las locaciones Nelson-13 y Palmer-2 en el bloque Esperanza, y Acordeon-1, Ocarina-1 y Clarinete-4 en el bloque VIM-5, y Arandala-1 en el bloque VIM-21, todos en la cuenca del Valle Inferior del Magdalena.

De acuerdo con  el informe de reservas independiente, preparado por Boury Global Energy Consultants, el Índice de Vida de Reservas (RLI, por su sigla en inglés) es de 9 años, basado en la producción anualizada de gas natural convencional del cuarto trimestre de 2019 de 180,9 millones de pies cúbicos diarios (Mcfpd).

En cuanto a Reservas Probadas Desarrolladas Produciendo (PDP), estas aumentaron 31% desde el 31 de diciembre de 2018, totalizando 252 billones de pies cúbicos (Bcf) al 31 de diciembre de 2019. En consecuencia, el remplazo de reservas fue de 213%, basado en las adiciones brutas del año 2019 de 112 Bcf.

Por su parte, las Reservas Probadas de Gas Natural Convencional (1P) aumentaron 4% desde el 31 de diciembre de 2018, totalizando 394 Bcf al 31 de diciembre de 2019, con un remplazo de reservas de 127%, basado en las adiciones brutas de 66 Bcf.

En cuanto a Reservas 2P, Probadas + Probables, Canacol registró un aumento del 12%, al pasar de 558,886 Bcf en 2018 a 623,758 Bcf al cierre de 2019. Y las Reservas Probadas + Probables + Posibles (3P) aumentaron 20% desde el 31 de diciembre de 2018, totalizando 885 Bcf al 31 de diciembre de 2019, con un valor antes de impuestos de US$2.9 billones.

Ravi Sharma, director de Operaciones de Canacol Energy, comentó que “la Corporación históricamente ha logrado un éxito significativo en la perforación de exploración y desarrollo de gas natural convencional en nuestros activos ubicados en la cuenca del Valle Inferior del Magdalena, y este éxito continuó en 2019.

“Desde 2013 hemos adicionado 696 Bcf de reservas 2P de gas natural convencional, provenientes del éxito comercial en 27 de 31 pozos perforados, representando un crecimiento anual compuesto (TACC) de 37% con un costo F&D 2P líder en la industria de US$0.67/Mcf.

“Con un portafolio de 140 prospectos y leads identificados, que contienen 2,6 terapies cúbicos (TCF) de recursos prospectivos, esperamos muchos años de perforación exploratoria exitosa, resultando en el movimiento de recursos de gas hacia reservas probadas y probables.”
