Consumo de gas natural crece y llega a 840 GBTUD del 10 al 16 de agosto

La mayoría de los sectores presentaron crecimientos, liderados por las refinerías que incrementaron su consumo en 9%, seguido por el gas natural vehicular que creció 8.9%, el sector comercial 2.8%, la generación térmica 2%, y el sector industrial 1.1%.

20 de agosto de 2020.   Durante la semana del 10 al 16 de agosto, la energía entregada a usuarios finales se situó en 840 GBTUD, una cifra superior a los 821 GBTUD registrados la semana inmediatamente anterior.

De acuerdo con las cifras de operación diaria, suministradas por los participantes del mercado al Gestor del Mercado de Gas Natural operado por la Bolsa Mercantil de Colombia (BMC), el consumo de gas natural aumentó en casi todos los sectores.

El crecimiento estuvo liderado por las refinerías, que incrementaron su consumo de gas natural en 9%, seguido por el gas natural vehicular que creció 8.9%, el sector comercial 2.8%, la generación térmica 2%, y el sector industrial 1.1%.

“Durante las primeras semanas de agosto, el consumo de gas natural ha mantenido tasas de crecimientos bajas pero moderadas, y en la medida que las actividades económicas retomen su debido curso, es posible que la demanda alcance los niveles previos al inicio de la pandemia en el país”, mencionó Andrés Pesca Ayala, vicepresidente de Mercados Energéticos de la Bolsa Mercantil.
