La llave maestra del trabajo del GDIAM ha sido la de definir una visión compartida de la minería en Colombia que se resume en la fórmula: «Minería, sí, pero incluyente, resiliente y competitiva».

9 de septiembre de 2021.   El Grupo de Diálogo sobre Minería en Colombia (GDIAM) en conjunto con la Universidad Externado de Colombia, realizó el lanzamiento virtual de su cuarta publicación “Propuestas para una minería incluyente en Colombia”, informe que recoge la actualización y precisión de la tipología para la minería, ordenamiento territorial, comunidades étnicas y minería, y la participación ciudadana efectiva para una minería incluyente.

Con más de siete años de trabajo, esta experiencia de diálogo entre diferentes, incluso opuestos, ha arrojado resultados concretos, gracias a la disposición de los miembros del Grupo de sentarse a la mesa con intención constructiva y con ánimo de proponerle al país fórmulas que puedan ser útiles para hacer de la minería una actividad aliada del progreso del país y de sus gentes. Dichos acuerdos han sido la base para desarrollar una amplia labor de incidencia en políticas públicas.

Así, se han formulado propuestas y concretado acciones específicas en temas relacionados con la participación ciudadana, la consulta previa, las políticas ambientales, el apoyo a la pequeña minería y los procesos de formalización de mineros. La llave maestra del trabajo del GDIAM ha sido la de definir una visión compartida de la minería en Colombia que se resume en la fórmula: «Minería, sí, pero incluyente, resiliente y competitiva».

A la luz de esa visión de la minería, el GDIAM ha retomado algunos temas previamente trabajados para revisarlos, actualizar los diagnósticos y las propuestas, y aportar nuevos elementos para la discusión desde la realidad minera en el país, de las decisiones de política pública y de nuevos hechos que caracterizan el desenvolvimiento de este sector de la economía colombiana.
