El adiós de Celia a Promigás

  • A través de una carta dirigida a la Junta Directiva, Antonio Celia Martínez-Aparicio anunció su decisión de jubilarse a partir de septiembre de 2018.

25 de abril de 2018.   Luego de 26 años en la presidencia de Promigás, la empresa pionera del gas natural en Colombia, que también tiene negocios en Perú, Antonio Celia deja la presidencia de la organización para iniciar estudios en la London School of Economics, donde ha sido invitado a ser Senior visiting fellow.

La Junta Directiva elogió y agradeció de forma especial la labor de Celia al frente de Promigás y sus empresas vinculadas, pues su liderazgo llevó a la empresa a posicionarse como una de las más importantes en Colombia y Latinoamérica.

En su carta a la junta directiva, Celia Martínez–Aparicio señala que “cuando en abril de 2014 fui diagnosticado con cáncer, la perspectiva de mi vida cambió abruptamente. Me di cuenta de lo frágil que es la existencia humana y decidí modificar mis prioridades. Me propuse, entre otras cosas, retirarme de la vida corporativa al cumplir los 60 años. Este año, en agosto, cumpliré 61, y aunque he logrado superar esta terrible enfermedad, llegó la hora de emprender una vida diferente por lo que les anuncio que a partir del 1 de septiembre de 2018 disfrutaré de mi pensión.”

Además, recalca la revolución social del gas natural que se produjo en Colombia durante los últimos 30 años, donde Promigás fue pionera y protagonistas de primer orden, como quiera que pasó de ser en 25 años un gasoducto regional a una corporación de negocios de 17 compañías en Colombia y Perú.

El gas natural tiene presencia en el 65% de los hogares del país, lo usa la mayoría de la industria, Colombia es octava en el mundo en el uso del GNV y es el combustible que le da firmeza al sistema eléctrico.

“El éxito económico y la adecuada retribución a nuestros accionistas con perspectiva de largo plazo, noción de país y sentido humanista, han sido nuestras insignias. El buen trato, el pensamiento crítico, la decencia, el trabajo en equipo, la solidaridad y la inteligencia colectiva son también parte de nuestra esencia”, señala Celia en su carta de despedida.
