En el ‘Día Internacional de la Mujer’, el sector del Gas LP avanZA en el tema de equidad de género, gracias a iniciativas como ‘Women in LPG Global Network’, que busca el equilibrio de género al interior de esta industria.

8 de marzo de 2022.   “En nuestro país, la Asociación Colombiana del GLP (GASNOVA) viene liderando el programa denominado ‘Mujeres en el GLP’, con el cual se avanza en la consolidación de una cultura de equidad de género al interior de esta industria”, afirmó el presidente de GASNOVA, Alejandro Martínez Villegas.

Women In LPG Global Network, ó Mujeres en el GLP, busca incentivar y ayudar a empoderar a las mujeres que trabajan en la industria. Para ello, desde la WLPGA (Asociación Mundial del GLP) se trabaja para dar alcance global a esta iniciativa mediante los objetivos específicos y el contexto sociocultural de seis países que se han sumado a esta iniciativa: India, Nigeria, Estados Unidos, Sudáfrica, Birmania y Colombia.

Cifras de la WLPGA estiman que el 29% de cargos directivos en la industria del Gas LP son ocupados por mujeres, mientras que los trabajos administrativos son el 42% y los operativos representan el 13%.

Encuesta de equidad de género en el gremio del Gas LP

Con el fin de cuantificar la percepción de las mujeres que trabajan en las compañías afiliadas a GASNOVA, desde WINLPG Colombia se llevó a cabo una encuesta en la que se abordaron diferentes temas de equidad de género y clima laboral.

La encuesta, aplicada a 420 trabajadoras, reveló que al interior de esta industria las mujeres se sienten valoradas. “La gran mayoría de las encuestadas (86%) considera que en el sector del Gas LP hay igualdad de oportunidades para hombres y mujeres”, afirmó Alejandro Martínez Villegas.

El 89% de trabajadoras considera que existe equidad de género al interior de sus empresas, mientras el 94% de las encuestadas se siente “reconocida y valorada” en su puesto de trabajo.

Por su parte, el 59% de las encuestadas tiene hijos y el 95% señala que “ser madres no les ha afectado su desarrollo en la compañía”; mientras el 81% considera que no hay diferencia salarial entre hombres y mujeres que ocupan los mismos cargos.

Finalmente, el 85% de las encuestadas señaló que en sus empresas se les ha permitido equilibrar su vida laboral y personal, brindándoles salario emocional (flexibilidad horaria), ascensos, estabilidad laboral, apoyo educativo y capacitaciones.
