Gobierno colombiano y Gasnova viabilizan abastecimiento de GLP en el país

  • La Asociación Colombiana del GLP (Gasnova) y el Gobierno Nacional implementan alternativas para viabilizar la distribución y el abastecimiento del Gas Licuado del Petróleo (GLP) en Cauca y Nariño, debido a la crisis generada por los bloqueos indígenas.

3 de abril del 2019.   Debido a los bloqueos que realiza la Minga Indígena en el principal corredor vial del sur del país, que ya completan 23 días, GASNOVA está trabajando con el Ministerio de Minas y Energía para implementar alternativas de distribución que garanticen el abastecimiento del GLP a los usuarios de los departamentos de Cauca y Nariño, donde hay mayor escasez.

Entre las estrategias planificadas para atender esta contingencia, gracias al trabajo conjunto del Ministerio de Minas y Energía con el Ministerio de Defensa se habilitaron una serie de recorridos llamados Caravanas Humanitarias, para que vehículos de compañías del sector GLP, cargados con cilindros de gas, recorran rutas secundarias y surtan a las plantas de Pasto y Popayán. De igual forma, se ha contado con el apoyo de buques de la Armada Nacional para el transporte y carga de GLP entre Buenaventura y Tumaco.

Está pendiente el levantamiento de la restricción vehicular por parte del Ministerio de Transporte, que se aplica a los camiones que transportan el GLP durante los días festivos; esta contingencia es otra demostración más de que debe haber un levantamiento definitivo de esta restricción.

Por otro lado, las compañías agremiadas a GASNOVA están evaluando la importación de GLP desde países vecinos como Ecuador y Perú.

Gestiones de las compañías

Por su parte, compañías agremiadas a GASNOVA (Montagas, Supergas de Nariño y CHILCO), que tienen operación en el departamento de Nariño, diseñaron sus propios planes de contingencia para abastecerse de GLP y atender a los usuarios de este departamento, el tercero con el mayor consumo nacional: 53 millones de kilogramos anuales que atienden la demanda de 377 mil hogares; es decir, 1’207.580 personas.

Es así como han optado por realizar los trayectos de sus camiones surtidores por vías secundarias de la región y están ejecutando recorridos por ciudades y cabeceras municipales para suministrar los cilindros a sus usuarios, labor que ha requerido el acompañamiento de la Policía Nacional.
