Ecopetrol, Arturo Calle y Bio Bolsa se unen para producir trajes de protección

El Grupo Empresarial Arturo Calle confeccionará las prendas con los insumos entregados por Bio Bolsa y Esenttia, empresa del Grupo Ecopetrol. Los artículos de protección serán suministrados a la Cruz Roja y a autoridades locales para su entrega a centros médicos de Colombia.

4 de mayo de 2020.   En una alianza estratégica para hacerle frente a la covid-19 en Colombia, el Grupo Ecopetrol, desde su filial Esenttia, Bio Bolsa y el Grupo Empresarial Arturo Calle entregarán en los próximos días 147 mil kits de ropa médica para la protección del personal de la salud que atiende la emergencia sanitaria en el país. 

Los kits, compuestos por batas y gorros, serán entregados a la Cruz Roja, así como a autoridades locales para asegurar su distribución a los hospitales y a las entidades prestadoras de salud en varias ciudades del país.

El insumo para la dotación médica así como los costos de producción fueron donados por Esenttia, empresa petroquímica del Grupo Ecopetrol dedicada a la producción de polipropileno, que tiene su planta principal en Cartagena.

Las 31 toneladas de esta materia prima fueron entregadas a Bio Bolsa, empresa productora principalmente de bolsas reutilizables en Bogotá, que las transformó en 330.000 metros de tela no tejida, que reduce significativamente la posibilidad de contagio de los médicos y demás personal de la salud.

“Nos motiva hacer parte de esta alianza porque representa la unión de toda la cadena: generadores de materia prima, transformadores y productores de artículos finales, todo con el objetivo de entregar protección al personal médico, prioritario en este momento”, dijo Jaime Plata, gerente General de Bio Bolsa.

Por su parte, el presidente de Ecopetrol, Felipe Bayón, afirmó que “esta alianza es una muestra positiva de cómo empresas con enfoques distintos pueden unirse, sumar esfuerzos y trabajar de la mano para entregar un producto vital para la protección de los profesionales de la salud que están entregando todo por salvar vidas y atender de la mejor manera a los pacientes afectados por el virus. Hoy exaltamos su labor y seguiremos apoyándolos para que cuenten con los elementos de protección necesarios. Tenemos que cuidar a estos héroes que nos cuidan a todos los colombianos”.

La tela especial para la dotación médica fue entregada al Grupo Arturo Calle para que confeccione las prendas en sus tres plantas de fabricación ubicadas en Bogotá y Pereira, cuya capacidad de producción se ha dispuesto para atender la emergencia sanitaria bajo los más estrictos protocolos de limpieza y prevención.

“Como empresarios colombianos estamos decididos a contribuir y afrontar esta coyuntura, continuaremos haciendo lo que esté a nuestro alcance para ayudar a prevenir la propagación de este virus en el país. Con esta acción queremos servir a quienes nos sirven, y sabemos que además de nuestra admiración, necesitan proteger sus vidas también. Sentimos el país y bajo este hervor nacional continuaremos actuando”, aseguró Carlos Arturo Calle, gerente General del Grupo Arturo Calle. 

Los 147 mil kits para los profesionales de la salud se suman a las iniciativas que Esenttia y el Grupo Empresarial Arturo Calle han gestionado a lo largo de esta emergencia para apoyar a diferentes poblaciones del país.

“Hoy, más que siempre, tomamos acciones para salvar vidas y estamos seguros de que la mejor forma es cuidando la integridad de los que nos protegen a todos, la comunidad médica que requiere insumos para garantizar que sus esfuerzos den los mejores resultados posibles”, indicóJuan Diego Mejía, presidente de Esenttia.

Esta alianza multisectorial es un ejemplo de solidaridad e innovación en el sector productivo que busca contribuir en el plan nacional que adelanta el Gobierno Nacional para hacerle frente a la covid-19.
