Hocol anuncia descubrimiento de gas en el Caribe colombiano

Hocol, filial 100% de Ecopetrol, encontró gas en el pozo Bullerengue 3, ubicado en un área cercana al descubrimiento Bullerengue 1, realizado en 2015, en una nueva zona más somera.

5 de mayo de 2020.   Hocol S.A. informó que el pozo Bullerengue 3, ubicado a 30 kilómetros de Barranquilla, en el departamento de Atlántico, comprobó la presencia de gas natural.

Los registros e información tomados durante la perforación indican que el pozo encontró arenas con gas natural en varios intervalos de un reservorio más somero que el de la estructura perforada en 2015 con el pozo Bullerengue 1, el cual produce de la Formación Chengue de edad Eoceno.

Las compañías Hocol S.A. y Lewis Energy Colombia Inc., después de analizar la información obtenida, definieron el plan de pruebas de producción que se está ejecutando actualmente y que inició el pasado 17 de noviembre de 2019.

“Este descubrimiento es una muestra adicional de nuestro compromiso con el abastecimiento de gas para el caribe colombiano. Así mismo, continúa materializando nuestra estrategia de crecimiento a través de la exploración y de ser una compañía con producción 50% gas y 50% petróleo”, dijo Rafael Guzmán, presidente de Hocol.
