“Masificación del GLP contribuye a la transición energética”: Duque

Durante su discurso en la instalación del 3er. Congreso Internacional del GLP – Clean Energy que organizó GASNOVA, el Primer Mandatario afirmó que Colombia tiene potencial para ser uno de los líderes regionales en ampliación del consumo de Gas Licuado del Petróleo (GLP).

10 de noviembre del 2021.   El presidente Iván Duque Márquez participó en la instalación del 3er. Congreso Internacional del GLP – Clean Energy, evento organizado por la Asociación Colombiana del GLP (GASNOVA) en la que se abordan temas de gran importancia para la industria del Gas Licuado del Petróleo a nivel nacional e internacional.

Durante su intervención de bienvenida, el Primer Mandatario de los colombianos afirmó que desde el Gobierno Nacional se ha venido trabajado para asegurar el abastecimiento, aumentar la demanda y controlar la informalidad en este sector.

“La demanda de GLP en el país en 2020 creció un 5,7% a pesar de la crisis causada por la pandemia, y en lo que va corrido del 2021 ha crecido 5%”, aseguró el presidente Duque, y explicó a los asistentes que el GLP es protagonista de la estrategia de movilidad sostenible que avanza a muy buen ritmo en distintos lugares del territorio colombiano. “El uso del GLP ayudará a reducir emisiones de gases efecto invernadero, material particulado, y la mejora sustancial en la calidad del aire”, agregó.

Para el Jefe de Estado, la “masificación del GLP en los sectores residencial, comercial e industrial, contribuye a la transición energética que es una de las grandes banderas de nuestro gobierno: con los recursos que tenemos, podemos convertirnos en una potencia de energías renovables no convencionales en América Latina”.

Duque recordó que en diciembre pasado se dio un gran paso hacia el abastecimiento de AutoGLP en estaciones de servicios públicos, con la expedición de la regulación que abre las puertas para usar al GLP en medios de transporte terrestre y fluvial.

“Este año, el Congreso de la República aprobó la Ley para la promoción y uso del gas combustible, que habilitó al Ministerio de Minas y Energía para crear un programa de sustitución de leña, carbón, kerosene y alcohol y combustibles para la cocción de alimentos”, sostuvo el mandatario.

Manifestó además que desde el gobierno, y de la mano con GASNOVA, se trabaja para lograr que más colombianos puedan cocinar de forma cada vez más segura, y sobre todo limpia, gracias al GLP.
