Muebles Jamar implementará paneles solares en sus tiendas

La compañía líder de muebles en Colombia estima un ahorro de energía de aproximadamente 50% con el desarrollo de este proyecto.

2 de junio de 2021.   Las necesidades actuales en cuanto a cuidado del planeta han dejado de ser preocupación de solo unos pocos y se han convertido en pilares estratégicos de las compañías más importantes a nivel global. Es por eso que Muebles Jamar, la compañía de muebles más importante de Colombia, dio un paso adelante en la generación de energía renovable para sus tiendas y centros de distribución.

Desde el 2017 la compañía inició el proceso de desarrollo de un plan de energía sostenible que le permitiera implementar paneles solares en sus tiendas con el objetivo de que estas se conviertan en 100% autónomas en cuanto a energía.

“Hace cuatro años tomamos la decisión de crear un plan de sostenibilidad que nos permitiera no solo convertir nuestras tiendas en autónomas en cuanto a generación de energía sino, también, convertirnos en un ejemplo para nuestro sector al pensar e implementar estrategias y herramientas que contribuyan al cuidado del medio ambiente al hacer uso de la energía solar como alternativa para el futuro de todos”, afirmó Edgardo Sanjuan Idrovo, director de infraestructura y mantenimiento de Muebles Jamar.

Actualmente se ha hecho una inversión inicial de más de 400 millones de pesos, que representan 125 KW de energía producida por medio de los paneles instalados. La compañía, que comenzó con estas adecuaciones en su tienda Jamar Trinitarias, tiene proyectado implementar esta herramienta de generación de energía solar fotovoltaica en 10 proyectos adicionales.

“Nuestro objetivo principal es que las tiendas que cuenten con los paneles solares consuman entre un 50% y 70% de esa energía generada, lo que significa un consumo promedio en cada tienda de 2.210.133 KW/h. Esto se traduce en una innovación significativa en nuestro trabajo diario y en un valor agregado para nuestros clientes y consumidores, pues demuestra nuestra preocupación por entregar un servicio sostenible con el medio ambiente”.

Las tiendas en las que se desarrollará este proyecto en su etapa inicial son: Jamar Trinitarias, Jamar Principal, HiperJamar, Cuatro Vientos (Cartagena), San Felipe (Cartagena), Sincelejo, Montería, Riohacha, Santa Marta y el Centro de Distribución de Galapa, el cual se espera esté adecuado con estos paneles a un 100% para finales de 2021.

Esta alternativa de abastecimiento eléctrico, a partir de generación de energías limpias, reduce anualmente el impacto ambiental en 1.500 toneladas de CO2, equivalente a la emisión de gases anuales con efecto invernadero de 320 carros.

“Este año cumplimos 70 años en Colombia; sabemos que los tiempos y las necesidades cambian; es por esto que, en medio de nuestra celebración, queremos demostrar a nuestros clientes y al sector en el que se desarrolla nuestra compañía, nuestro compromiso por ser siempre responsables con cada uno de nuestros procesos. Por eso este proyecto es tan importante para nosotros: no solo contribuye a que sigamos siendo la compañía de muebles líder en el país sino que, además, nos permite ser un ejemplo en cuanto a la implementación de iniciativas ecológicas para cuidar el medio ambiente” concluyó Sanjuan.
