Terpel aumentó utilidades en 78% durante 2019

En los cinco países en donde está presente – Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, Perú y República Dominicana – la compañía alcanzó un volumen de ventas por 2.917 millones de galones, 6,7% más que lo registrado en 2018. 

27 de marzo de 2020.   De acuerdo con cifras presentadas en su informe de gestión 2019, la Organización Terpel reportó un EBITDA consolidado de $884.346 millones y una utilidad neta de $237.920 millones, con un crecimiento del 19,4% y del 77,9%, respectivamente, frente al año anterior.

En Colombia el EBITDA fue de $694.126 millones, 14,7% más que en 2018, y las ventas totales alcanzaron los $17 billones. De igual forma, Terpel reportó la consolidación de una red de 1.921 estaciones de servicio, 1.674 afiliadas y 249 propias. La compañía compartió estos resultados en su Asamblea General de Accionistas, llevada a cabo de forma virtual, el pasado 20 de marzo.

“Cada año trabajamos en el desarrollo de iniciativas que nos impulsan a ser la mejor opción del mercado en términos de infraestructura, servicio y precio. Nuestro desafío permanente es estar al servicio de nuestros consumidores, lo que nos demanda ser innovadores, competitivos y sostenibles, económica, social y ambientalmente”, dijo Sylvia Escovar, presidente de Terpel.

Terpel, en su red de estaciones de servicio, logró distribuir 1.505 galones, con un crecimiento en ventas del 6,3% frente al año anterior.

Crecimiento sostenible

En términos ambientales, la compañía incorporó al mercado 129 taxis con motores dedicados a GNV, en alianza con Hyundai. Estos vehículos representaron una reducción en la emisión de 750 toneladas de CO2 (más del 50% de las emisiones), en los 4´100.000 kilómetros que recorrieron entre abril de 2018 y febrero de 2020.

De igual forma, Terpel apoyó la reducción de la huella ambiental de sus clientes industriales, a través de la gestión de compra de bonos de carbono, equivalentes a una disminución en la emisión de 214.673 toneladas de CO2 en 2019.

En el frente social, la compañía benefició el año pasado a cerca de 350.000 colombianos, a través de los programas de la Fundación Terpel y de Restaurando Sueños, la iniciativa corporativa mediante la cual la organización aporta a la construcción de una paz sostenible.

La compañía generó oportunidades laborales para 208 reintegrados y víctimas y apoyó la labor de la Patrulla Aérea Colombiana, con la donación de más de 20.817 galones de combustible que permitieron realizar 11 brigadas de salud para que 6.681 colombianos accedieran a más de 4.000 tratamientos médicos y a más de1.300 tratamientos quirúrgicos en zonas de difícil acceso.

Gracias a sus buenas prácticas en cuanto a la gestión sostenible con sus diferentes grupos de interés, Terpel fue incluida en el listado de las 15 compañías más sostenibles a nivel mundial en el sector retail, de acuerdo con el índice de sostenibilidad de Dow Jones.

Nueva movilidad

Con la inauguración del primer punto de carga eléctrica en carretera, Terpel marcó un hito en su historia. A través de su estrategia de nueva movilidad, la compañía busca conectar a toda Colombia con puntos de recarga en las principales carreteras del país.

Terpel cerró 2019 con dos electrolineras, ubicadas en estaciones de servicio en la troncal Bogotá – Medellín, y espera cerrar 2020 con 30 puntos distribuidos por todo el territorio nacional.

El negocio de lubricantes también creció

La compañía alcanzó un volumen de ventas de 24,3 millones de galones de lubricantes y una participación del mercado del 40% (10% con la marca Terpel y 30% con la marca Mobil). Terpel logró llegar al 100% del envasado de la producción nacional en la planta de Lubricantes de Cartagena.
