Colombia: instalarán misión de expertos para la Transición Energética

  • El anuncio fue hecho por la Unidad de Planeación Minero Energética (UPME) en el marco del Noveno Seminario de Eficiencia Energética, realizado a finales de abril por la Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Servicios Públicos y Comunicaciones (Andesco).

29 de abril de 2019.   El Ministerio de Minas y Energía instalará la Misión de Expertos para la Transición Energética, cuyo principal objetivo es definir en los próximos seis meses, cuál es el perfil de la transición energética en Colombia y cuáles son los cambios en el sector que se considere líder de esta transición.

La Misión de Transición Energética se instala en momentos en que se dan tres tendencias mundiales: la creciente electrificación de las economías, la digitalización del sector energético y la descentralización de la generación.

La Misión enfocará su trabajo en cinco grandes temas:

Uno: ¿Cómo aumentar la competencia en el nuevo contexto de desarrollo del mercado de energía y cómo participa la generación distribuida en ese mercado?

Dos: Proponer otras formas de suministro de energía más eficientes y explorar la coordinación necesaria para desarrollar los mercados del gas natural y el eléctrico.

Tercero: Determinar la apuesta de Colombia por la digitalización del sector de energía.

Cuarto: Propuestas para mejorar la calidad de la energía, pues hay preocupación por la duración promedio de las fallas del sistema, que llegan a 39 horas en el nivel uno y 33 horas en nivel dos, mientras en los cuatro mercados más grandes del país está entre 14 y 15 horas de interrupciones al año. Un país OCDE debe tener al año interrupciones promedio de una hora.

Quinto: Definir los actores del gobierno responsables de esa Transición Energética.

Finalmente, un tema transversal es ofrecer soluciones al millón de colombianos que no cuentan con el servicio de electricidad y al millón y medio de colombianos que aún cocinan con leña.
