La iniciativa busca que tanto transportistas de carga como de pasajeros puedan migrar a un combustible más económico y ecológico como el gas natural licuado (GNL).

23 de marzo de 2021.   Durante la sesión del Pleno del Congreso, el ministro de Energía y Minas, Jaime Gálvez, dijo que próximamente tendrán una propuesta confirmada por Pluspetrol respecto al precio preferente para la producción de GNL, lo que permitirá poner en marcha, en el mediano plazo, el desarrollo de estaciones de servicio en Perú.

“Nosotros tenemos un recurso natural abundante que es el gas natural, que en lugar de usarlo, una parte lo reinyectamos en Camisea, y ese gas podría usarse para favorecer las flotas de carga y de pasajeros. Este plan de mediano plazo que trabajamos en alianza con Pluspetrol permitiría a los vehículos recorrer largas distancias. Este gas natural podría reducir de forma sostenible el precio de los combustibles hasta en 30%”, explicó Gálvez.

Asimismo señaló que “armar” todo el proyecto tomará un año, excediendo el tiempo del actual gobierno, por lo que dejarán “listo el acuerdo con Pluspetrol y el marco reglamentario para construir las estaciones de carga para que el proyecto entre en marcha hacia finales de este año o a inicios del próximo”, agregó.
