El Valle de Aburrá sigue impulsando el ingreso de combustibles limpios a la matriz del transporte público y privado, apoyando el AutoGLP en el área metropolitana de Medellín.

12 de agosto de 2022.   Terpel inauguró la primera estación de AutoGLP en Medellín y completa dos estaciones en el país. La otra está en Cartagena, abierta hace cerca de un año y donde ya se han convertido más de 120 vehículos.

La nueva oferta del Autogas se encuentra en la Estación Terpel Las Mercedes en Medellín, que además es la primera estación de AutoGLP certificada y está conformada por un tanque de 2.000 galones y un surtidor con dos mangueras, para atender a los 25 vehículos que ya hicieron la conversión en la ciudad y que, en consecuencia, están exentos del pico y placa ambiental.

En el mundo, el AutoGLP es el tercer combustible más utilizado después de la gasolina y el diésel, con cerca de 28 millones de vehículos. En materia ambiental, frente a la gasolina reduce en 81% el material particulado y en 21% el CO2; con respecto al diésel, la reducción es del 74% del material partículas y 81% del CO2.

Además, en términos de autonomía y ahorros económicos, se estima una reducción de entre el 30 y 35 por ciento.

Gracias al decreto 468 de la Alcaldía de Medellín, que declara al AutoGLP como combustible de bajo impacto ambiental exceptuándolo del pico y placa, se espera que se conviertan en este año unos 200 vehículos.

Con la de Medellín ya se completan diez estaciones de AutoGLP en el país, ubicadas en Barranquilla, Cartagena, Fusagasugá, Cúcuta y Pasto.
