Con la entrada de la flota troncal más limpia y grande de los sistemas de transporte masivo en el mundo, operando 741 buses a gas natural vehicular Euro 6, con 179 articulados y 562 biarticulados, Bogotá se convierte en la ciudad de la revolución en el transporte limpio en América Latina.
27 de junio de 2020. Bogotá inicia una nueva era en su sistema de transporte masivo, con la llegada de los últimos 130 buses a gas natural al patio de Las Américas y así completar el total de 741 buses que componen el 51% de la flota que renueva Transmilenio en las fases I y II.
Se trata de una de las flotas más limpias del mundo y en la cual entran en operación 741 buses a gas natural vehicular (179 articulados y 562 biarticulados) con casi cero emisiones al ambiente, que bajo los estándares Euro VI cumplen con la normativa de emisión de vehículos más exigente del mundo para el cuidado de la calidad del aire.
Las nuevas estaciones de Vanti, construidas y puestas en servicio en tiempo récord, para cumplir con los tiempos establecidos para la entrada de la flota, así como las exigencias de implantar una nueva tecnología en los patios, cuentan con sistemas robustos de compresión que permiten tanqueos que oscilan entre 8 y 10 minutos por bus, gracias a la tecnología de llenado rápido para sistemas de transporte masivo fabricados y ensamblados en Canadá.
De acuerdo con la cantidad diaria de buses a atender, se pueden abastecer flotas de 50 hasta 300 buses en los distintos patios, distribuidos por la ciudad, garantizando el suministro para los recorridos de los buses definidos entre 250 km a 430 km diarios.
Los nuevos vehículos están impactando de manera significativa con la reducción del 99,9% de las emisiones de material particulado y óxidos de nitrógeno, los contaminantes que más perjudican la salud de los bogotanos; adicionalmente se evidencia una reducción de dióxido de carbono (CO2) cercana al 50% y, debido a las características de los motores Euro VI a gas natural, hay una disminución de las emisiones sonoras que son diez veces inferiores a las de los vehículos diésel.
En los próximos diez años, tiempo contemplado como mínimo para la operación de estos nuevos buses, la reducción de impacto ambiental por la flota a gas natural será superior a 1 millón de toneladas de CO2 descargadas.
Así mismo, de acuerdo a las pruebas y factores de emisión de la Universidad Nacional, cada mes los 741 buses, reducen 6.300 toneladas de CO2, 100 kg de material particulado, 84 toneladas de Óxidos de Nitrógeno, materializando un beneficio directo en la calidad de aire que se respira en Bogota.
Por su parte, un estudio de la Universidad de los Andes demostró que con solo el 25% de la nueva flota, la reducción de material particulado al interior de estaciones y buses fue del 50%. Con el arranque desde hoy de los 741 buses a gas natural se espera que la reducción de este indicador cada día sea mayor.
Rodolfo Anaya Abello, presidente de Vanti destacó que “este avance con la nueva flota de buses a gas natural que reciben los habitantes de Bogotá es producto de una sumatoria de esfuerzos encabezados por la administración distrital, Transmilenio, los operadores oferentes con GNV, el fabricante de buses SCANIA, Ecopetrol y TGI, que marcaron el camino hacia la utilización de vehículos con combustibles limpios en la capital. A ellos se sumaron ambientalistas, expertos en transporte, académicos, medios de comunicación y comunidad, que con su aporte concientizaron sobre la necesidad de que la ciudad contara con combustibles que permitan mejorar la calidad del aire”.
Asimismo, destacó que “en el sector contamos con la experiencia, el servicio y la infraestructura para que el gas natural sea el camino que Colombia siga para potenciar el crecimiento del transporte masivo y para asegurar su sostenibilidad económica y ambiental”.
