Perú promueve adopción de gas natural licuado en vehículos pesados

El Ministerio de Energía y Minas (Minem) de Perú publicó dos proyectos de Decreto Supremo que buscan impulsar un mayor uso y consumo del gas natural en el transporte de carga pesada y de pasajeros a nivel nacional.

10 de marzo.   Las normas autorizan la construcción de una red de estaciones de servicio que suministren gas natural licuado (GNL), producto que ofrece mayor rendimiento y seguridad comparado con otros combustibles, además de ser económico y amigable con el medio ambiente.

Las Resoluciones Ministeriales, que plantean modificaciones a los Decretos Supremos N° 057-2008-EM y 006-2005-EM, permiten que los consumidores directos y demás agentes del mercado del GNL puedan construir sus propias estaciones de carga de combustible a fin de utilizarlo en sus actividades.

Además, se autoriza la operación de estaciones móviles para despachar GNL (denominadas Microfueler), que permiten trasladar el combustible al lugar donde el consumidor lo requiera, y también se dispone la creación del Sistema de Control de Carga de GNV-L, que regulará el consumo del combustible.

Con esta normatividad, que se enmarca en el desarrollo de la Política Energética Nacional orientada a la masificación de gas natural, se fomentará el uso del GNL en el transporte de carga pesada, de pasajeros y en el sector minero, entre otros rubros que se beneficiarán con la construcción de estaciones de servicio.

De esta forma se dinamizará la comercialización del GNL, permitiendo atender de forma más confiable, eficiente y segura la demanda nacional de combustibles, con un recurso local, lo que incidirá positivamente en la Balanza Comercial de Hidrocarburos, al disminuir la importación de otros combustibles, como el diésel.
