Canacol triplicará su producción de gas natural a 2020

  • La compañía especializada en explotación de gas natural en Colombia, participa en dos proyectos de gasoductos que le permitirán aumentar su producción a 330 MPCD.  

Marzo 21 de 2018.   En entrevista con la Guía del Gas, Charle Gamba, presidente de Canacol Energy, dijo que la compañía pasará de producir los 130 millones de pies cúbicos diarios (MPCD) actuales a 330 MPCD a finales de 2020.

Esto será posible gracias a dos proyectos de transporte en los que participa en asocio con Promigás, para duplicar la capacidad del gasoducto que va de Sucre a Cartagena, y otro proyecto con Empresas Púbicas de Medellín (EPM), para construir un tubo entre los campos de Canacol y Medellín.

Ambos proyectos tendrán una capacidad de transporte de 100 MPCD cada uno, con lo cual Canacol podrá triplicar su producción actual.

De otro lado, Gamba señaló que Colombia tiene un potencial de reservas de 15 terapiés cúbicos de gas natural, concentrados principalmente en las cuencas de los Valles Inferior y Medio del Magdalena, el piedemote llanero en el mismo tren de Cusiana y Cupiagua, y costa fuera. En estas cuatro áreas es donde se concentran las 15 teras de  potencial, todavía por explorar.

Finalmente, Gamba dijo que la compañía está ciento por ciento enfocada en la cuenca del Valle Inferior del Magdalena, entre Montería y Sincelejo, donde se concentran todos sus campos, con cinco contratos con la Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos, con alrededor de 150 pozos identificados por perforar, y cerca de dos terapiés cúbicos por descubrir.
