  • En la actualidad se ha despertado un interés creciente por temas relacionados con Micro Redes, Redes Inteligentes, Ciudades Inteligentes, Medición Inteligente, entre otros.

31 de mayo de 2018.   En las Micro Redes, por ejemplo, se pueden integrar diferentes tecnologías de generación de energía o DER (distributed energy ressources), desde la CHP (combined heat and power) hasta las mismas fuentes renovables que pueden flexibilizar la oferta/demanda energética a lo largo de la red, reducir el impacto de los cortes eléctricos, optimizar los costos y abastecer de energía eléctrica zonas de difícil acceso para las líneas de transmisión convencionales.

Los beneficios derivados de la utilización de estas tecnologías se pueden resumir en:

  • Económicos: Mejora de la eficiencia y los costos energéticos previsibles a largo plazo.
  • Resiliencia: Mejora de la fiabilidad de las interconexiones en la red eléctrica, para que el sistema se adapte al cambio y responda de manera inteligente ante las contingencias.
  • Medioambientales: Reducción de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI), por el uso óptimo de los recursos renovables y programas de eficiencia energética.

Otro tipo de beneficios, que muchas veces se pasa por alto, son los sociales, los cuales tienen el potencial de ayudar a una mejor ejecución de los proyectos, permiten la generación y el consumo colaborativo de energías de una forma natural y contribuyen a la concientización y al ahorro energético.

Es por esto que la sociedad requiere de un modelo energético que empodere a los ciudadanos para consumir y para entregar excedentes de energía a la red.

Estos temas fueron tratados en detalle en el evento “Micro Redes y su transición del potencial a la realidad”, el 17 de mayo de 2018 en la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, donde participaron 200 representantes del sector energético colombiano.
