- La transición energética global es uno de los mayores desafíos de la humanidad, pero también una oportunidad para combinar voluntad empresarial y política innovadora para crear soluciones de energías sostenibles.
28 de octubre de 2018. Las metas para un futuro sostenible son ambiciosas. Incluirán una amplia gama de sectores y necesitarán un enfoque en la innovación. Por este motivo, el Consejo Mundial de Energía (WEC, por su acrónimo en inglés) y la Agencia Alemana de la Energía (DENA) están construyendo una comunidad global centrada en la «Innovación en la transición Energética». Así, estás dos organizaciones diseñaron el Premio Start Up Energy Transition Award, para llamar a todos los innovadores internacionales.
El premio es un concurso internacional para empresas jóvenes en todo el mundo que estén trabajando en ideas sobre la transición energética mundial y el cambio climático.
En solo dos años, el premio ha recibido cerca de mil postulaciones de 88 países. Existen cinco categorías diferentes en las que los solicitantes pueden presentar proyectos, todos con el objetivo de promover las energías limpias.
Los jurados seleccionarán las tres nuevas empresas más prometedoras de cada categoría, quienes presentarán sus ideas de negocio en la cumbre anual del SET Tech Festival el 9 de abril de 2019.
Categorías
Se identificaron cinco categorías que reflejan los problemas críticos que enfrenta la innovación necesaria para la transición energética a nivel mundial y que contribuyen significativamente al desarrollo sostenible.
- Producción de energía baja en carbono
Busca nuevas empresas que trabajen con tecnologías innovadoras que nos alejen de la dependencia de las energías de origen fósil. Es una oportunidad para quienes están en las industrias solar o eólica, desarrollando tecnologías de hidrógeno o biocombustible, apoyando sistemas de calefacción y refrigeración o creando soluciones de mantenimiento de bajo costo.
- Redes inteligentes, plataformas y seguridad cibernética
Se necesitan redes inteligentes que sean capaces de vincular la creciente cantidad de fuentes de energías renovables, por lo que se buscan nuevas empresas que tengan la clave para equilibrar la red, reducir las distancias físicas y virtuales y crear nuevos mercados.
Las soluciones innovadoras, como la gestión de la cadena de suministro predictiva y los temas digitales como la big data, ayudarán a mejorar el rendimiento, la resiliencia y en última instancia, el impacto de los recursos de los sistemas existentes.
Busca a los innovadores en áreas como smart grids con acceso a energía descentralizada, soluciones punto a punto basadas en blockchain y sistemas de última milla que puedan acercarnos más a los sistemas de energía.
- Eficiencia energética, dispositivos inteligentes y almacenamiento
La transición energética tiene mucho que ver con la eficiencia energética, por lo que se premiarán las ideas que ayuden a hacer más con menos. Cada vez más consumidores de energía buscan soluciones y productos para ayudarlos a administrar su consumo de energía.
Se quieren tecnologías que permitan cerrar la brecha entre el almacenamiento accesible y el aprovechamiento de niveles de generación de energía fluctuantes, por lo que se invita a los empresarios a que muestren sus medidores inteligentes, soluciones basadas en blockchain para eficiencia energética y almacenamiento, software de evaluación del ciclo de vida, tecnologías de aprendizaje automático y otras.
- Movilidad innovadora
El sector transporte es clave para la descarbonización. Cada vez más ciudades están implementando políticas que apuntan a reducir la contaminación y las emisiones de GEI, lo que significa que la era de los sistemas de transporte alternativos no está lejos. Se quiere descubrir quién tiene la mejor infraestructura de carga, combustibles alternativos o sistemas de baterías innovadores, que puedan desbloquear el potencial de este mercado y hacer del transporte limpio la nueva realidad para individuos y empresas.
- Premio Especial: Quality Access & ODS-7
Para lograr una transición energética global, no se puede ignorar el tema de la pobreza energética. El Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) 7 de la ONU tiene que ver con «garantizar el acceso a una energía asequible, confiable, sostenible y moderna para todos».
Mientras que los formuladores de política deben tomar medidas para mantener el trilema energético en equilibrio, la comunidad empresarial tiene un papel que desempeñar para garantizar el acceso a la energía para todos, de manera sostenible.
Esta categoría busca nuevas empresas que tengan el potencial para garantizar el acceso a una energía asequible para todos, de manera equitativa. Busca diversas soluciones para tecnologías, financiamiento, conocimiento, desarrollo de capacidades, entre otras, que puedan llegar a tener un gran impacto social.
Beneficios y premios
Para los finalistas y ganadores se ofrecerá a los solicitantes de los 100 mejores puestos la oportunidad de participar y exhibir su trabajo en el 24º Congreso Mundial de Energía 2019 en Abu Dhabi.
Patrocinado por la Autoridad de Electricidad y Agua de Dubai, esta oportunidad incluye gastos de viaje y alojamiento, y un espacio de exhibición para invitados.
Para todos los finalistas, vuelo a Berlín y alojamiento para 2 representantes del proyecto para asistir al Tech Festival, además, las empresas de nueva creación tendrán la oportunidad de asistir a las Cumbres de los Líderes Mundiales de la Energía.
Los ganadores de cada categoría recibirán hasta 10.000 euros en premios, y participarán en el panel de ganadores en el Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD).
